What is the BVRT Festival of Cycling?

A fully supported gravel cycling event on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, bringing together riders of all levels for a day of riding, community, and celebration—finishing in Yarraman.

When is the event?

Saturday 1 August 2026.

Where does the event finish?

All distances finish at Yarraman Station Park, part of the Yarraman Festival. There will be food, drinks, music, sponsor tents and more.

What distance is the ride?

There are three distances to choose from:

  • 161km (Wulkuraka to Yarraman)
  • 75km (Toogoolawah to Yarraman)
  • 50km (Moore to Yarraman)

Which ride should I choose?

That depends on the kind of day you’re after.

The 161km is the full end-to-end challenge. The 75km is a strong, rewarding ride. The 50km is a great all-round experience—perfect for riding with mates and making a day of it. Always ride within your ability.

Is this a race?

The event attracts a mix of riders. Some will push the pace and treat it as a personal challenge, while others ride for the experience, the scenery, and the atmosphere.

You can ride it your way.

The event is not formally timed.

Can I use an e-bike?

Legal e-bikes are permitted.

What does “fully supported” mean?

Riders are supported along the course with water stops, ride marshals, mechanical assistance, and first aid teams.

Support is there when you need it, so you can focus on the ride.

Are there cut-off times?

Yes. Cut-off times are in place to ensure all riders finish safely. The official race support will end at 3pm.

What happens if I need help on the trail?

Support crews are positioned along the course with roaming assistance on the path. If you run into trouble, support is never far away.

How do I get to the start?

Each distance has a different start location. Riders are responsible for organising their own transport to the start.

Is transport provided after the event?

There will be return transport from Yarrmann to the start locations. Tickets will be available to purchase on the registration page for the return transport.

Will there be somewhere to store my bag?

Yes. Bag storage options will be available at the start, with collection at the finish in Yarraman. Details will be confirmed closer to the event.

How do I register?

You can register online via the registration page (button at the header).

Choose your distance and secure your place early.

Do I need insurance?

Riders will need to confirm they have valid cycling insurance or purchase a one-day event licence during registration. Full details will be provided when entries open.

Where do I get my race number?

Race number collection will be at your start location up until 30 minutes before your race start time. Once registered, details will be emailed prior to the event, including locations and times.

Can I ride with friends?

Absolutely. Many riders take part in groups—just choose the same distance and start together.

What if I can’t attend?

We’re sorry you won’t attend, but if you have a valid reason, we’ll offer a full refund up to 7 days before the event.

What should I bring?

Bring your bike in good working order, helmet, water bottles, nutrition, and anything else you’d normally take on a ride of your chosen distance.

Will there be food and drinks?

Yes. There are water and nutrition stops on course, and a full event village at the finish with food, drinks, and music.

Is there photography?

Yes. Professional photographers will be on course capturing the day.
